We started our day by driving to Maghull station to get the Metrorail connection to Liverpool Central on the 08.31 am arriving at 9.16 am. A walk through the city centre north through Vauxhall eventually led us to the start of the canal although many years ago the canal went far further into the city but has been filled in to make way for development over the years.
