The photos above and below show the remains of the buildings alongside the north side of the canal approaching Church near Aspen colliery, which appeared to be old kilns of some kind almost certainly part of the Chemical works.

Here the canal ended for walkers at the Gannow tunnel, at the bottom of the old Yutefield Mill. The canal continues through the tunnel in a north-easterly direction for half a kilometre before finally coming out at the top end of Tunnel Street and winding its way down to the town centre.
